The latest edition of the Jockey Club Foundation Certificate in Sports Coaching Theory will commence on Tuesday, 14 June 2022. The course covers the basic theoretical knowledge of sports coaching, coaching management and sports science, coupled with a practicum to equip students with the practical needs of sports coaching. The six-month programme consists of ten modules and one practicum (coaching assistant), including 65 hours of face-to-face classroom teaching, 60 hours of self-study, 30 hours of practicum and 2 hours of introduction to practicum, for a total of 157 hours. The course is recognised under the Qualifications Framework as QF Level 2.

To encourage coaches to continue their studies during the novel coronavirus epidemic, the Home Affairs Bureau of the HKSAR Government will provide full fee subsidy to participants of this year’s Jockey Club Advanced Sports Coaching Theory Certificate programme, who will be issued with the relevant certificate and receive a full refund of the course fees upon graduation.

The course will commence in June 2022 and will be held on Tuesdays and Fridays from 7pm to 10pm at the Hong Kong Sports Institute or online. A copy of the QF brochure and the course prospectus are attached for reference and can be found on the HKSC website at http://www.hkcoaching.com.
