Hong Kong Rowing has been a key sport in Hong Kong since 1997 and is funded by the Government's Elite Programme. Over the past two decades, the Hong Kong Rowing Team has won numerous international competitions such as the Asian Games, Asian Championships, East Asian Games and the World Junior Rowing Championships.
The coaching team plays a crucial role in the success of the Hong Kong Rowing Team. Their professional guidance and support not only enhances the athletes' skills, but also motivates the team members to strive for excellence in the sport of rowing.
At present, there are 31 affiliated clubs of HKCRA, most of which are open to the public to join and provide equipment, coaching and continuous rowing activities for the participants.
The "Hong Kong Rowing Youth Academy" programme aims to enhance the skills and physical fitness of the cadets through systematic and progressive training to reach the level of the Hong Kong Junior Squad, who will then be promoted to the Hong Kong Sports Institute (HKSI) as scholarship athletes.

Paris 2024 is my second Olympic Games, and I am grateful to the coaching team for their perseverance and dedication to Olympic qualification, and I am grateful for being able to withstand the ups and downs of the process, from the Rio de Janeiro Olympics eight years ago to the Paris Olympics, which has become one of the important milestones in my career as an athlete.
In the eyes of Hong Kong people, breaking records in sports competitions may not be as glamorous as getting a "5**" in the Diploma of Secondary Education (DSE). While most parents tend to think that studying is the best way forward for their children, I, as a full-time Hong Kong rowing athlete and part-time student of the Hong Kong University of Education (Bachelor of Health Education), have a different view.
