HKCRA Membership System HKCRA introduced the new membership system on June 1, 2025. Members under the old system may continue to enjoy their benefits until their original expiration date, after which they will be required to transfer to the new system. The new membership system applies to the following membership categories:

1. Concessionary rates apply to members aged under 25, 65 and over, and persons with a recognized disability as defined under the Ordinance CAP 487.
2. Full, Associate and Honorary Membership shall classify as Ordinary Membership as defined in the Articles of Association.

Adjustments to previous memberships:

• The previous Ordinary Membership is no longer available for new sign-ups or renewals. Existing memberships will remain valid until their expiration date, after which members are required to transfer to the new system.
• The Day Pass option will no longer be offered. Members with existing Ordinary Memberships under the old system can continue to purchase Day Passes until their membership expires. The price for the Day Pass has been adjusted to HK$100.

Membership Year & Renewal Rules Membership Year: The Membership Year will run from 1 January to 31 December with Quarters defined as Q1: Jan–Mar | Q2: Apr–Jun | Q3: Jul–Sep | Q4: Oct–Dec. Full Membership/ Renewal Rules: New Memberships

• No fee is charged for the current quarter (one-time only new member benefit).
• Payment is calculated on a pro-rata basis for the remaining number of quarters.
• New memberships in Q4:Pay the full annual fee for the following year. Membership is valid through 31 December of the next year.

Transition Renewals

• No fee is charged for the current quarter (one-time only benefit for transition to new system).
• Payment is calculated on a pro-rata basis for the remaining number of quarters.
• Renewals in Q4:Pay the full annual fee for the following year. Membership validity is extended to 31 December of the next year.

Renewals after a Break in Membership from 1 June 2025 onward

• Payment is calculated on a pro-rata basis for the remaining number of quarters.
• A re-activation administration fee of HK$100 shall also be charged.

• Members whose membership has been interrupted and wish to rejoin will be required to pay the original membership fee plus an additional HK$100 administrative reactivation fee.

Associate Member: Associate membership is valid for one calendar year, from January to December. Members who join at any point during the year will be subject to the standard terms and conditions, with the membership fee remaining at HK$250 regardless of the join date. 1. We are committed to establishing fair and transparent membership application standards. HKCRA fully upholds the principles endorsed by the Board of Directors, ensuring integrity, fairness, and equal opportunity in all our membership processes. We pledge to maintain these standards diligently and to promote a level playing field for all members and applicants.
2. By submitting your application through our online membership platform, your membership can be confirmed within 10 minutes. A notification email informing you of the application result will be sent promptly upon confirmation.
3. In case of delay, we will promptly notify the applicant of the reason for the delay and provide an estimated completion date to ensure transparency and keep you informed.
4. We do not have any arrangements or policies in place for waiving fees. All applicable fees must be paid in accordance with our standard procedures.

6. HKCRA awards Honorary Memberships to individuals who have made significant contributions to the rowing community, including top-level athletes and esteemed umpires, in recognition of their dedication and achievements in the sport.
7. Members may withdraw their membership by notifying HKCRA via email at memberships@rowing.org.hk. Upon receipt of the notice, HKCRA will respond and confirm the effective date of withdrawal within 10 working days. Please note that no redundancy arrangements will be made for any withdrawal.
8. HKCRA will retain all documents in relation to the administration of membership for 7 years.
9. HKCRA is committed to handling all personal information obtained during the processes of membership application, renewal, suspension, and termination in strict compliance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance.
