Hong Kong China Rowing Association

In view of the Government’s recent announcement on 5 Jan 2022, starting from 7 to 20 Jan 2022, all premises regulated under the Prevention and Control of Disease (Requirements and Directions) (Business and Premises) Regulation (Cap. 599F), including the Rowing Centres of the Hong Kong, China Rowing Association (HKCRA) will be closed. Hence, competitors enrolled in 2022 Asian Rowing Virtual Indoor Championships (ARVIC) will not be able to use the ergometers in the rowing centres on race day, 15 Jan 2022.

Because of the above, the HKCRA will arrange for a Short Term Ergo Loan Scheme, intended to provide indoor rowing machines to rowers who live in Hong Kong and have enrolled in the ARVIC to be held virtually on 15 Jan 2022.

Valid centre users^ may enjoy a FREE loan of one ergometer for the period from 11 to 17 Jan 2022, while non-valid centre users* will be charged an amount of HK$100 for this period. We also offer FREE transportation to non-Islands District applicants, the delivery/collection date will be between 11 to 17 Jan 2022, and will be vary from different districts. (For Islands Districts, the transportation fee will be provided upon request.)

Rowers entered in the ARVIC and who wish to apply for this Scheme are welcome to fill in the below form (https://forms.gle/kk5BYVQ3Jy416fYcA) for registration. Application will be on first-come-first-served basis, successful applicant will be notified via email within 2-3 business days and you are requested to submit the completed undertaking and declaration for our further processing.

Please note that because the number of ergometers is limited, successful applicants are encouraged to work together with other rowers who have entered different events in the 𝗔RVIC to make shared of the loan ergometer. (Note: the ergometer must only be used in the designated loan address.)

^ For Valid centre users, HKCRA will charge HK$500 as a deposit, which shall be reimbursed to the Borrower upon the return of the Equipment to HKCRA without damage.
* For non-valid centre users, HKCRA will charge HK$1000 as a deposit, which shall be reimbursed to the Borrower upon the return of the Equipment to HKCRA without damage.
