The Hong Kong, China Rowing Association (HKCRA) is pleased to announce a Technical Training for Coaches event, organized by World Rowing, to be held in Hong Kong. This training aims to develop potential Coach Educators (CE) who will deliver World Rowing’s coach education materials in Classic, Coastal, and Para rowing disciplines. CEs will also assist with training camps and other development activities in Asia and other regions.

(1) Course Details:

Date    : 6 – 14 October 2024

Venue    : YMCA Wu Kwai Sha Youth Village

(2) Eligibility Criteria:  To be eligible for this training, coaches must meet the following criteria:

  1. Be an active HKCRA registered coach with a valid Hong Kong identity card;
  2. Possess good physical health and swimming ability;

iii.   Demonstrate fluency in English and excellent teaching and communication skills;

  1. Have successfully completed and passed the online self-learning modules and pre-course certifications; and
  2. Be able to attend and complete the full duration of the Coach Educator Course which is a full-time, camp-based training;
  3. Upon successful completion and qualification as a Coach Educator, be willing to support World Rowing’s development activities in the Asian region throughout the next Olympic cycle.

(3) Application Process:

Two openings are available for Hong Kong (one male and one female). Interested coaches are invited to submit their applications by email to rowingcourse@rowing.org.hk by 31 August 2024 before 12noon HKT. Applications should include (late applications will NOT be considered):

  • A statement outlining your reasons for participating in this course;
  • A brief resume detailing your coaching experience; and
  • Necessary supporting documents.
