2024-25 Practical Weekend Workshop I: Beach Sprint
To facilitate preparations for the 2024 Hong Kong Beach Sprint Championships, scheduled to be held in Mui Wo on December 14-15, the HKCRA will collaborate with World Rowing to organize a series of training activities. One of these activities is the “2024-25 Practical Weekend Workshop I: Beach Sprint,” which will be led by Mr. Chris Perry, the Lead Development Expert for Asia, along with other coaches. The workshop is designed to encompass both theoretical and practical sessions, ensuring that coaches acquire substantial hands-on experience in beach sprint racing. Technical Training for Coaches: Coach Educator Course Announcement and Call for Application
The Hong Kong, China Rowing Association (HKCRA) is pleased to announce a Technical Training for Coaches event, organized by World Rowing, to be held in Hong Kong. This training aims to develop potential Coach Educators (CE) who will deliver World Rowing’s coach education materials in Classic, Coastal, and Para rowing disciplines. CEs will also assist with training camps and other development activities in Asia and other regions. (1) Course Details: Date : 6 – 14 October 2024 Venue : YMCA Wu Kwai Sha Youth Village Instructors : Ms. Rosie Mayglothling, Head of Coach Education & Chair of World Rowing Competitive Commission Ms. Ella Willott, Development Coaching Expert Mr. Chris Perry, Lead Development Expert for Asia (2) Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for this training, coaches must meet the following criteria:

The Annual Coaches Conference is part of the coaching education programme and therefore all the coaches are requested to attend. Foundation Para Sports Coaching Course [3]
Hong Kong Paralympic Committee will organise Foundation Para Sports Coaching Course for basic knowledge and training principles of Para sports.
The Coaching course is opened for enrolment now. For people who would like to pursue the Para sports coaching professional or are interested to join Para sports, please download “General Information” and submit the online application form on or before 26 January 2023.

Introductory Sports Coaching Course is Now Open for Enrollment (Course code: Class 34(E)
Hong Kong Coaching Committee will launch Introductory Sports Coaching Courses in March 2023. This course offers those who are interested in sports coaching the concepts of sports training and sports science. Along with the sport specific coaching programme provided by National Sports Association (NSA), it equips participants to become respective sports coaches. Along with the sports specific coaching programme provided by National Sports Association (NSA).
This course (Course code: Class 34(E) will be conducted in English and organized on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Please recommend athletes and coaches for enrollment to this course. For details, please refer to the Course Details and Application Form.
In order to incentivize coaches to retain and upgrade their knowledge and skills in coaching during the pandemic situation, Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau has allocated funding to support coaches to pursue coach education programmes. Full waiver of course fees will be provided to participants by way of reimbursement upon satisfactory completing of the study requirements for Class 34(E). |
